The Geography and Planning Department at Appalachian State University will begin offering their Master's Degree in Geography with a concentration in Planning this fall (2008) at UNC-Asheville's Graduate Center. See below for more details:
New Graduate Studies Opportunity
Starting in the Fall Semester of 2008, it will be possible to earn a Master’s Degree in Geography with a Concentration in Planning without leaving Asheville. The Department of Geography and Planning at Appalachian State University will offer classes on the campus of UNC-Asheville for professionals looking to advance their careers in the fields of geography or planning. This degree program is designed for students with a baccalaureate degree in any discipline. Courses will provide advanced training that will prepare students to work in local government, for state agencies, for private businesses, or in the non-profit sector. Careers in both the geography and planning fields are in high demand. Courses are offered in the evenings to accommodate
work schedules. Students will take 2 classes a semester (including in the summer) and will finish in 2 years.
